Captain Angelo Palombo Describes ‘Unrecognisable’ Sampdoria Following Napoli Defeat

Angelo Palombo urged his Sampdoria teammates to think about their duties on the pitch and not reflect on the departures of Antonio Cassano and Giampaolo Pazzini.
As Sampdoria came away from the San Paolo following a 4-0 mauling at the hands of Napoli, Blucerchiati captain Angelo Palombo issued a rally cry to his teammates urging them not to repeat such a performance ever again.

“I don’t recognise this Sampdoria side,” he declared to SkySport

“Aside from the defeat such a performance will only do us damage.

“We are too inconsistent and I knew this from the beginning of the season.

“The side creates little and even when we had the likes of [Antonio] Cassano and [Giampaolo] Pazzini we served them little.

“Talented players are hard to come by but we need to rediscover ourselves.

“All players must think about playing when they take to the field and we remain a strong side even without Cassano and Pazzini.

“It is our duty to perform on the field and not think about the decisions made at club level.”
