Eredivisie champions Twente have received some disappointing news from the treatment table in the build-up towards the KNVB Beker clash at home against PSV on Wednesday evening.

Head coach Michel Preud'homme will have to make do without the services of star player Bryan Ruiz after the Costa Rica international has endured a slight recovery setback.

The versatile attacker sustained a knee injury ahead of the winter break and was expected to return to full match fitness by now.

However, according to a report in Voetbal International, the 25-year-old will now sit out another game after previously missing the league encounter against Groningen last weekend.

Ruiz will likely be replaced by Emir Bajrami on Wednesday. The former Elfsborg attacker returned to match action against Groningen after a lengthy injury lay-off and is raring to go again.
