Thomas Schaaf complimented his confident Werder Bremen team, but remained critical of his players' loose passing.
Coach Thomas Schaaf praised Werder Bremen's courage following his team's 1-1 draw with Hannover, but was critical of the lack of passing sharpness his players displayed.
"We tried everything over the 90 minutes, but made it harder for ourselves by conceding," he said according to Kicker.
"In the second half, we were courageous and were rewarded with a goal. What we still lack is security in our passing."
Bremen were dominant in possession throughout the match, but suffered a calamitous error in defence ahead of Didier Ya Konan's opener. After the half-time break, Per Mertesacker rose high to head home the equaliser, but the Hanseaten were unable to net a winner before full time. The result saw Werder advance out of the relegation zone, but Schaaf's men remain just one point clear of the drop.
