Ajax Interested In Utrecht Striker Ricky Van Wolfswinkel

Utrecht striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel has attracted the interest of Ajax.
According to a report in NUsport, Ajax are closely monitoring the situation of Netherlands international Ricky van Wolfswinkel, currently under contract with Utrecht.

The Amsterdam outfit are in the market for attacking reinforcements because of the ongoing uncertainty about the future of Luis Suarez.

Head coach Frank de Boer reportedly sees Van Wolfswinkel as the perfect replacement in case Suarez leaves the club.

The 21-year-old is a product of the Vitesse youth academy and impressed in Arnhem before joining Utrecht in the summer of 2009. He has since developed into a key player at the Domstedelingen and has even made it into Holland's national side.

Ajax face stiff competition in the race for Van Wolfswinkel's signature though. Clubs such as Liverpool and Napoli are also keeping tabs on the striker. His current contract with Utrecht runs until the summer of 2013.
