Ajax Set €30 Million Asking Price For Luis Suarez

Ajax have reportedly set a €30m asking price for Luis Suarez, but are willing to open talks if a €20m offer comes in.
Ajax coach Frank de Boer revealed on Tuesday that he's confident that star player Luis Suarez will not leave the Godenzonen in the January transfer window and added that an 'extraordinary' offer is needed if Ajax are to let go of the Uruguay international.

The Ajax gaffer refused to name an asking price for Suarez, but a report in De Telegraaf now claims that the Amsterdam giants are looking for a transfer fee in the region of €30 million for the tricky attacker.

Premier League side Liverpool are eager to lure Suarez away from his current club, but Ajax are not impressed with the Reds' €15m offer and are holding out for twice that amount. Ajax are willing to open serious transfer talks if a €20m offer comes in though.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool are willing to meet Ajax's valuation of Suarez and the former Groningen star could very well stay at the Amsterdam ArenA if Ajax don't lower their demands.

The 23-year-old Suarez has developed into the star player at Ajax since joining the Godenzonen in the summer of 2007 and he's continually being linked with a move to a bigger club. His current contract runs until the summer of 2013.
