Inter midfielder Sulley Munari hands in official transfer request to club.
Inter technical director Marco Branca confirmed yesterday that midfielder Sulley Muntari has handed in a official transfer request.
The 26-year-old, who moved to Italian football from Portsmouth in 2008 for a fee of €16 million, has made just 12 appearances in all competitions for the Nerazzurri in the current campaign, and is desperate for regular first team football.
As a result Branca, speaking to Sky TV ahead of yesterday’s 4-1 win over Bologna, stated that the Ghana international had made it clear that he sees his future away from the European champions.
He remarked: “He [Muntari] has made himself available to leave as long as a team wants him and is interested in him. He is a lad who is close to us, he is a good person, even though he expresses opinions of someone who wants to play.”
Muntari had been a first team regular with Inter during previous boss Jose Mourinho’s first season at the club, but slowly drifted out of favour, and looks set for a winter switch, with a host of English Premier League teams placed on red alert.
