Rafael van der Vaart: I Have Rediscovered My Love For The Game At Tottenham

Dutchman wishes to remain at White Hart Lane for many years.
Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Rafael van der Vaart has revealed he has rediscovered his love for the game following a successful start to life at White Hart Lane and hopes to stay at the club for many years.

The Dutch international, 27, has become a hero with Spurs fans since his £8 million transfer from Spanish giants Real Madrid in August, which followed an unhappy two years at the Bernabeu.

"After my time at Real Madrid, which was not a very happy one, I have rediscovered my love for the game at Tottenham," van der Vaart told Sport Bild magazine.

"My heart is now at Tottenham. It is not a huge club but rather a real traditional club, like I have already learned to love at Hamburg or Ajax."

Tottenham is the Dutchman's fourth club in as many countries, but the player – who has 88 international caps – feels he and his family are now ready to settle in north London.

"The changes should now come to an end," he continued.

"Also for my family. My son speaks four languages by now. That's enough.

"I feel settled in London and would like to play here for many years."
