Rivaldo looks to be on his way to Sao Paulo.
The latest reports from South America suggest Sao Paulo are considering bringing 2002 World Cup winner Rivaldo back to the upper echelons of Brazilian football.
A deal for the 38-year-old could be announced by the end of the week with a contract until the end of the year worth between 80 and 120,000 Reais (€35 - 44,000).
Sao Paulo director Joao Jose de Jesus Lopez revealed a deal is the works.
The former Barcelona and Milan star is currently featuring at lower division side Mogi Mirim and the move reportedly picked up pace after a conversation between goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni and the attacking midfielder. Fans have apparently backed the move.
"The effect was great, even in our community," admitted the club official, according to Lancenet.
"We are analysing the possibility. He became the world's best player at times and has a good attitude. We are working and evaluating. Let's see what the coaching staff thinks [about his acquisition]."
Rivaldo would be the club's third reinforcement for the 2011 campaign, after having already signed Juan and Willian Jose.
