Mamelodi Sundowns Coach Ian Gorowa - We Will Fight On

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Ian Gorowa has vowed to fight till the end for the League title despite going down 2-1 to League leaders Orlando Pirates on Saturday night.
The Brazilians have now lost twice to Pirates and once to other title rivals Kaizer Chiefs this season, and Gorowa is not giving up on the fight just yet.

Sundowns are now six points behind Pirates with 10 matches to go and Gorowa insists that his side will fight up until the last match of the season, even though Pirates are favorites to win the title.

"You have to give yourself a chance, you cannot give up its only six points anything can happen," he said.

"If we keep consistency there is till 10 more games, I know we have lost to other title contenders but I think it is very important to know that there are14 other teams, there is not only two teams in the League," he added.

"We still have to play Chiefs at home, I think if we can be consistent winning the other games who knows what will happen,” said Gorowa.

The coach attributed the loss to mistakes at the back as Pirates took advantage and scored their goals in the first-half.

Katlego Mashego scored with a penalty kick in the 13th minute and Thulasizwe Mbuyane scored with a free header on the stroke of half-time after connecting with a ball from Clifford Ngobeni, while Mabhudi Khenyeza pulled one back in the 79th minute for Sundowns.

"I think we made two mistakes at the back and Pirates scored two goals from it, but yeah when you are playing an important game like this you try minimizing the mistakes but we made those mistakes at the back and we got punished," he said.

"So its just one of those games which you have to give credit to Pirates they took their chances well. We tried to come back in the second-half, obviously we were pushing with a lot of chances but we couldn’t take them, so yeah it was just one of those games where we didn’t rise to the occasion in terms of converting our chances to goals," he concluded.
