Sampdoria's Reto Ziegler Rejects New Deal For Lazio Move

Ziegler wants out of Sampdoria, with Lazio ready to swoop once more.
Sampdoria left-back Reto Ziegler appears set to join Lazio on a free deal in June after rejecting proposals over a new contract.

Ziegler was approached by Sampdoria chiefs with a new deal in tow, but Il Corriere dello Sport claims it was turned down.

His current terms expire in on June 30, 2011, leaving him free to join Lazio thereafter.

The Roman club tried to land him during the winter transfer window, but their proposals to offer Pasquale Foggia in return for the Swiss defender were rejected.

Milan were linked with Ziegler, but that path seems less than clear. Juventus are said to be interested with Giuseppe Marotta ready to open dialogue with his former side.
