Espanyol Defender Victor Ruiz On Verge Of Completing Napoli Switch

Napoli edge closer to securing a €6 million deal for Espanyol defender Victor Ruiz.
Victor Ruiz is on the cusp of moving from Espanyol to Napoli after reports from Italy suggested that the deal was almost complete.

Corriere dello Sport comments that representatives from both clubs as well as the player’s agent were locked in talks for much of yesterday, and that there are only minor issues to resolve before the transfer can be made public.

The Serie A side will pay €6 million for the 22-year-old centre back, who was also linked with a switch to Manchester City earlier in the window.

It is thought that the only stumbling block in the deal is the role of Jesus Datolo, who is currently on loan at the Blanc i Blau from Napoli, and wants clarification on where his future lies, with Napoli looking to include the 26-year-old as a makeweight in the transfer.

Walter Mazzarri’s Italian outfit remain extremely confident, however, that a deal will be concluded within the next 24 hours.
