Lazio are said to be interested in Benfica wing-back Fabio Coentrao, who is being tracked by a hoard of top European clubs.
Lazio are looking for a top wide man, and their search as led them to Benfica star Fabio Coentrao.
Javier Garrido has not convinced since his summer arrival from Manchester City, and he has been dropped from the squad for the Coppa Italia clash against Roma.
Il Corriere dello Sport claims Aquile chief Claudio Lotito has instructed his transfer chiefs to encourage an opening for Coentrao.
The 22-year-old Portuguese international, who shot to fame at World Cup 2010, is being tracked by Lazio, who are trying to make a full turn on the transfer market.
However, they face high status competition and a struggle against wealth and power as Milan, Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United have all been linked with Coentrao.
The next step is to open dialogue with the Portuguese club, who are said to be asking for nothing less than €20 million.
