Maicosuel Could Return To Hoffenheim If Botafogo Fail To Pay Transfer Fee

Maicosuel could be 'repossessed' by Hoffenheim if Botafogo fail to pay the last installment in his transfer fee this week.
Less than a year after he left Hoffenheim, Botafogo attacker Maicosuel could be on his way back to Germany. According to a report from Kicker, Botafogo have paid €3 million out of the €4m fee the two teams had agreed to, but the Brazilians may not pay the final installment of cash.

Should they fail to pay the final €1m this week, Botafogo will have to release the 24-year old Maicosuel back to Hoffenheim.

"If the money does not come then Maicosuel must come back according to the contract," said Hoffenheim sporting director Ernst Tanner.

Should he return to Hoffenheim, Maicosuel will likely be loaned or sold. The player struggled for playing time last year, and with Ryan Babel's transfer imminent, he is not expected to have a future in Sinsheim.
