Mallorca stricker Victor Casadesus out for 10 weeks after suffering from thigh muscle injury.
Mallorca could be set for activity in the transfer market after coach Michael Laudrup was stung by the news that striker Victor Casadesus is out for up to 10 weeks after suffering a thigh injury.
The Balearic club’s front man limped off during Monday’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon, and medics today confirmed that the injury will keep the 25-year-old out of action until the beginning of April.
Team doctor Bartomeu Munar has stated that the player will require surgery to fix the problem, and will then undergo a period of rest followed by rehabilitation.
The Palma-born attacker has been in decent form for Laudrup’s team since the turn of the year, scoring in the wins over Hercules and Almeria, but now the Dane may have to become active in order to bolster his options.
Pierre Webo and on-loan Bordeaux man Fernando Cavenaghi are his only recognised, and fit, first-team strikers, and with the imminent departure of Gonzalo Castro, the Islanders may decide to search for an alternative.
