Catania coach Marco Giampaolo says he has to keep an eye on how long certain players were on the pitch against Juventus.
Catania coach Marco Giampaolo says his side gave it their utmost despite losig 2-0 to Juventus in the Coppa Italia Round of 16.
Giampaolo had to manage his list due to many people either injured or returning from a spell out of action, and this was reflected on the scoreboard.
"We had to calibrate how long each player was on the pitch for, as we are short in numbers at the moment," the tactician told La Repubblica. "Augustyn was returning after a period on the sidelines, just like Spolli and Mascara.
"Despite this, the side did well to play a good match against A Juventus team that could not lose.
"I chose to rest several key players such as Maxi Lopez, as well as Ledesma, Llama and Carboni. We need to manage our list with so many niggling injuries.
"I had said that we came to Turin to give it our best with the team at our disposal, and we have done this.
"We need to understand the reality behind the result, and it is a positive with so many players coming back into the side," he concluded.
