Palermo Don't Need A New Striker - Maurizio Zamparini

Palermo have excluded a striker arrival despite shortage of personnel.
Maurizio Zamparini has ignored calls for Palermo to sign a striker.

The president has told coach Delio Rossi to pick youth players and plug the holes.

His message comes after Rossi said "no comment" when asked what he made of Massimo Maccarone's transfer to Sampdoria - a move which has left him with just one fit striker in Fabrizio Miccoli.

"No striker will arrive at Palermo in January. It's true we have an emergency up front, but soon Abel Hernandez and Mauricio Pinilla will be back," Zamparini told Reterete24.it.

"If we buy another striker then we will have too many and I want to avoid this.

"Juventus have called on youth when they have dealt with injuries, I don't see reasons as to why we can't do the same."
