Red Devils boss claims City & Spurs should focus on fourth.
Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has rushed to defend his side, as he believes that question marks concerning their form are unwarranted.
The Red Devils have remained unbeaten in the Premier League this season and are on a run of 20 games without a loss, but have managed to draw seven of their nine games on their travels.
But the Scot instead points towards their form at Old Trafford, where they have drawn only one and registered 10 victories and hit out at the critics of the club's progress this term.
"You are always going to get different appraisal of Manchester United than other clubs," Ferguson said, according to the Daily Mail.
"Our form has been wrongly assessed. We have dominated every home game, including the Arsenal one, which we should have won by five.
"We've had disappointing results in some away games, but we played well in games such as Everton and could have had five or six before throwing the points away. It reminds the players that we have to be perfect for people to be happy."
Both Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp and Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini have, in the past, spoken of their desire to push on and win the Premier League this season although Ferguson feels both sides should be content with a top-four spot.
