Ian Holloway is poised to sign former Manchester United player Roy Carroll for Blackpool to ease the club's goalkeeper crisis which has left the Tangerines without a fully fit goalkeeper.
Blackpool have Matt Gilks and Paul Rachubka out with long-term injuries, and current number one Richard Kingson has now picked up an injury and it is doubtful that he will be fully fit for Blackpool’s next game against Aston Villa.
33-year-old Carroll has plenty of Premier League experience after representing Manchester United, Derby County and West Ham, and will be seen as an attractive option for Holloway as he is currently a free agent after being released by Danish side Odense.
Holloway has revealed that if he is unable to sign a new goalkeeper in time for this weekend’s game, striker James Beattie has volunteered to put the gloves on.
