Michael Frontzeck has been dismissed from his role as Borussia Moenchengladbach coach.
Borussia Moenchengladbach have parted ways with coach Michael Frontzeck, the Bundesliga club announced on their official website.

"After the two defeats to both our direct competitors St. Pauli and Stuttgart we had to rethink our situation," sporting director Max Eberl said. "That was a very hard decision for us."

A week ago, die Fohlen blew a two-goal lead against Stuttgart, and lost 3-2. Yesterday, St Pauli earned a 3-1 win against the struggling side, which was the last straw for the Gladbach management.

According to Kicker Frontzeck's possible replacements include Gladbach U-23 coach Sven Demandt, former Gladbach senior coach Hans Meyer, and former Bochum and Koeln gaffer Marcel Koller. Demandt is tipped as favourite, although an official announcement has yet to be made.

Frontzeck leaves with Gladbach seven points from safety from relegation, having earned just 16 points from 22 matches.
