The Toffees boss believes Spaniard should have been sent off at half -time.
David Moyes has spoken of his outrage over comments made by Cesc Fabregas towards the officials in Arsenal’s 2-1 victory over Everton at the Emirates on Tuesday.

Everton had taken a controversial lead when Louis Saha, in an offside position, found himself one-on-one with keeper Wojciech Szczesny after a pass from Seamus Coleman had deflected off Laurent Koscielny, and slotted the ball past the young Pole.

However, the Gunners rallied after the break and subsititute Andrey Arshavin and Koscielny came up with the goals, to turn the game on it’s head and give the north London side the victory.

But Moyes believes Fabregas should have been sent off in the tunnel at half-time, after the Arsenal captain made comments towards the referee regarding the decision to allow the goal.

“Fabregas’ comments to the officials coming down the tunnel at half-time warranted a sending-off,” said the Everton manager in his post-match press conference.

“I won’t be more specific than that the comments were deserving of a sending off, 100 per cent.

“If he had said it on the pitch, he would have been off – like that.

“I heard it myself but I wouldn’t even repeat them. They were disappointing comments coming from such a talented footballer.”

Moyes did concede Saha's opener was offside but maintained it is up to the officials to get decisions right. The Scto was also unhappy at the nature of Arsenal's winner but insists his side performed well.

“It was off-side but it wasn’t Everton who made the decision,” he continued.

“We gave it away by our defending at a set-piece. We have nobody to blame but ourselves.

“We played really well apart from a lapse at a set-piece. We did a really good job.”
