Fiorentina’s Riccardo Montolivo was delighted with his side’s first away win of the season against Palermo.
As Fiorentina's recent positive patch continues following a 4-2 victory over Palermo this afternoon, Viola captain Riccardo Montolivo urged his side to continue climbing back up the standings and make up for their poor showing in the first half of the season.

“Even when we were a goal behind we had been the better side,” he declared to SkySport.

“We are finally picking up some important results and are climbing back up the standings as a consequence.

“In the first half of the season we certainly didn’t express our true potential but merited our low positioning.

“Now we are getting back on track I hope we can continue on this path and gift the fans more performances like this afternoon.

“We are coming away with an important victory and this must serve us as a lesson in valuing ourselves a little more highly.”
