Ian Holloway: Blackpool’s Defending ‘Suicidal’ In Everton Loss

Manager claims Seasiders are suffering fatigu.
Ian Holloway has lamented Blackpool’s second half performance after they gave away a 3-2 lead to succumb to a 5-3 defeat against Everton.

The Seasiders came from behind to take the lead when captain Charlie Adam put them 3-2 up just after the hour mark.

However despite a defensive change, playing with five defenders Blackpool let their lead slip and two Louis Saha goals either side of a Jermaine Beckford strike handed Everton all three points.

Holloway revealed his disappointment at allowing Everton a riposte and admits that the result was the making of their own poor performance.

“That’s what’s happening to us, to be perfectly honest with you we committed suicide there,” he told Sky Sports.

“Some of that defending I’m quite embarrassed about, we’ve got to sort that out.

"We got ourselves in front and I tried to do what we did against Liverpool and solid it up, we had about 10, 12 minutes left.”
