Johan Cruyff is set to return to Ajax in advisory role, with a focus on improving the club's youth academy.
Ajax club legend Johan Cruyff has agreed to rejoin the Amsterdam outfit in an advisory role, with the prime focus being on the club's famous youth academy.

The 63-year-old met with general director Rik van den Boog and the Supervisory board, and he was appointed to his post, according to Goal.com Netherlands.

Over the coming weeks, there will be several more meetings between the parties to fully discuss the role of the Holland legend. He will likely focus on Ajax's technical aspects, including the Godenzonen's youth academy and serve as an advisor to coach Frank de Boer.

The Dutch giants have created three 'focus groups': technical, business and financial, with the aim of streamlining the club into the 21st Century.

Cruyff played 276 matches for Ajax over two stints, scoring 204 goals. He won eight Eredivisie titles as well as three consecutive European Cups in the early 1970s.
