Milan Goalkeeper Christian Abbiati Suffers Head Injury Against Tottenham

Milan 'keeper Christian Abbiati was forced to leave the field after 20 minutes into the Rossoneri's Champions League match against Tottenham.
Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati picked up a head injury after colliding with Peter Crouch during Tuesday's Champions League encounter with Tottenham Hotspur.

Abbiati came off his line to punch a cross away, but upon doing so, collided with the towering forward.

Upon getting up, he turned to the linesman and complained of a strong pain in his head, and was unable to stand up properly. He was stretchered off after 20 minutes and replaced by Marco Amelia.

Abbiati was taken to hospital to undergo scans, and Goal.com Italia have reported the custodian suffered minor trauma to the cranium.

The Rossoneri went on to lose the match 1-0 courtesy of a Crouch goal in the 80th minute.
