Palermo Coach Delio Rossi Bemoans Defensive Errors Following Fiorentina Defeat

Coach Delio Rossi blamed Palermo’s inability to open up a two goal cushion after their 4-2 defeat against Fiorentina.
As Palermo suffered only their third home loss of the season after a strong second half comeback from Fiorentina, Rosanero coach Delio Rossi refused to get too downbeat despite his side’s lacklustre performance at the back.

“We should have put the game to bed at 2-1,” he declared to SkySport.

“Unfortunately given our characteristics we are inclined to conceded quite a few at the back and this cost us today.

“It is in our make-up to express ourselves in attack and we still have work to do to improve in all areas.

“Whilst it is never nice to lose at home I don’t wish to be too dramatic. We weren’t champions before and we are not failures now.

“Today we didn’t get the rub of the green on a number of chances in front of goal and were made to pay with some lapses at the back.”
