Real Madrid are set to launch a summer swoop for Villarreal midfielder Borja Valero, according to reports.

Goal.com Spain comments that Los Blancos are ready to bring the playmaker, who began his career at the Santiago Bernabeu, back to the capital after monitoring his hugely impressive performances for the Yellow Submarines this season.

The Madrigal club will look to hold out for a fee in the region of €18 million for the former Mallorca maestro, but Madrid coach Jose Mourinho will hope to negotiate a lesser valuation for the star.
